Bubbly Spinner Winner!

Isn't this so cool?! It's been quite a while since I've made a spinner card, so I basically did this from memory rather than a tutorial. This is for THREE challenges on SCS!! The Monday's TLC was to make a spinner card, Tuesday Color Challenge was to use "Groovy Banana Chips" (hehee!) and the Sketch Challenge was incorporated with this as well! Since I've missed them this week, I just lumped them all together!! :)

All the images I used are from Prickley Pear. And have you gotten your FREE rubbah yet?! If not, you should click on the link to view the details on the front page of the website!! There are some pretty cool brand NEW stamps out! I just love this little "Fishy Fred" dude!! I cut the bubbles out seperately and popped them up next to him away from the spinner action and then used stickles to make them sparkly!! And I did use the color combo from the challenge ONLY. And I did follow the sketch other than making it a spinner.

And this is just to show you what the other side of the spinner looks like. I just stamped the bubble word circle with Banana ink and then stamped the sentiment in chocolate chip. It's fun because you just "wind up" the square a few times and then let it go and watch it spin!! If you want to know how to make one of these spinners, click on the TLC link above and it will take you to a link where you can go that shows you how to do it.
Hope you enjoyed my fishy spinner today!! I look forward to showing you more NEW images very soon from Prickley Pear!! So stay tuned in!! *HUGS & SMILES!!*

You go girlFROG!

Is this not the funniest image eva?! I "toadally" have so much fun coloring these in! Do you remember the Freaky Frog Daddy I posted a while back? Well, this is his "better half" if you will! And of course, all of the images I've used comes from DRS Designs! I did this card for the Cute Card Thursday challenge. (Which was to create WITHOUT any DP!!) Gasp! No DP?! Well, it's really not too hard of a task for me as I really love to create my own BG with stamps! You can make ANY BG really with stamps...that's what's so fun about stamps!
Anywho, the BG on this card, I used my trusty Open Heart Border image. (Not just for Valentine's Day anymore!) I stamped the hearts in the same color green as the card. Then the You Go Girl sentiment was stamped with the burgundy ink over top of the hearts. The Frog Momma was stamped on vanilla with black Staz On ink and watercolored with crayons. I have been picking up the lighter shades of colors for a shading border around my images now and I really like the way it makes them pop out! I also did a shade around her head to make it more seperate from the umbrella. And yeah!! I got to use my new Nestabilities to help frame the girl frog! The inspiration for the colors on this card actually came from that piece of retired Stampin' Up! ribbon originals that you see on here! I thought that making her suit an apricot color would really make her stand out more. Of course you have to put da bling on her as well! I covered her jewelry and parts of her purse with stickles. She's just ready for action at the beach now, isn't she?! YOU GO GIRLFROG!!! I know...I crack myself up sometimes!! Hope you had fun viewing my creations today!! Thanks for stopping by!! *HUGS & SMILES!!*

Wild Wasabi Frogs!

Hope you are having a happy Tuesday today!! As you can see, I decided I liked my "side bar" on the RIGHT instead of the left...a little change is always good I say! :)

Today, my thoughts keep coming back to this frog boy image by DRS Designs. It so much reminds me of my mischievous boys always getting into something! AND...this is water colored with crayons, but I have been playing around with my copic markers. I promise I will post my experience & examples soon! I really like them, but I'm still learning and playing around a bit with them.

This card is for two challenges today!! One is from the SCS Color Challenge for today using Taken with Teal, Wild Wasabi & white! And this beautiful sketch, came from the Stamp Something Blog! I'm sure I'll be using this sketch again!! And here's a close up view of some of the details on the card:

Here's the details on the card:
All images are from DRS Designs. The Wasabi panel was cuttlebugged and layered with white onto a turquoise card which is a 5x5 size. I took a strip of turquoise and stamped the little froggie with white ink on it. I also stamped the "Happy Birthday" greeting in white and punched it out with the 1" circle punch. The boy image and little frog image was placed next to each other on an acrylic block to stamp with StazOn black and colored in with watercolor crayons. I distressed the edges a bit and layered him onto the wasabi & turquoise panels; attached it to the front. Then I tied the white taffeta ribbon (LOVE that stuff!) around it and popped up the circle greeting on front. Happy stamping!! *HUGS & SMILES!*

Freaky Frog Daddy!

Here's my second card for the Stamp Something blog challenge! This darling little dude is part of the NEW Releases from DRS Designs!! I absolutely LOVE this sentiment!! I think it goes great with this silly pot belly frog daddy! It is hard to have a positive attitude at times, but these cute images REALLY help me out with that!! I needed a card like this one today!!

**I hope everyone got their Design Team entries in on time for the June 7th deadline!! Thank you and good luck to all those who have applied!**

I colored him in with the watercolor crayons. (You can scroll down to see the tutorial for helpful hints if you'd like.) He looked like he needed the red and white striped swimsuit! hehee! The card is Creamy Caramel and I used the red striped grosgrain ribbon for an accent that matches the swimsuit. Hope you're enjoying your summer! Make the time to stamp today for fun!! *SMILES!*

Finding Frogs & mushrooms...

Ahhh! Those good ole days when I used to live on the farm! We had a pond and I remember trying to catch all those frogs jumping into the water as I got closer to them! That's what reminded me of this image! So this is my creation that I did for Prickley Pear. I asked my husband what he thought when he saw this card and he said "mushrooming!" He also said it would be a good Father's Day card. I think it's so neat that everyone can look at the same exact thing, but from a different perspective, don't you? This is why I love reading what you all think!

I used a cattails image (By Prickley Pear also) and stamped it lightly in the background with sage green ink. The sketch I came up with on my own as I had it in my head for a while and just got around to actually getting the thought in action! I just could'nt let this little froggie go without making him slimey! So I added some crystal effects to him. The image is colored in with, my fav, watercolor crayons. I used up some more of that retired SU! satin chocolate chip ribbon that I've been hoarding so much (I just love that stuff!) and used it for a dividing strip between the two panels. The bottom panel of the card is some Memory Box paper that I've had for a while. I hope you have plans to enjoy a fun filled summer! *HUGS & SMILES!*

Feelin bubbly tonight!

Here's a card I managed to get done this afternoon with my recent Prickley Pear images! Nicole sent me some blank cards with the circle already cut out of the middle along with some awesome images (I'll be showing more of those later!) The little fishy's name is Fred ~ How cute is that?! I stamped the Bubbles image all over the BG with blue craft ink and then embossed it with Irrdescent Ice EP. It's hard to tell in the picture, but it's sparkly! I used my coluzzle to cut out a thin layer of blue CS to go over the circle already in the card. Punched out a scallop blue circle, added Fred the fish with pop dots. After coloring him in, I brushed him over with some Shimmerz. The bubbles I cut out seperately and added some stickles to make them sparkle. Adding some shiny ribbon really makes the whole thing sparkle. This was a really fun card to do! I can't wait to play with the rest of the images she's sent me! So be checking back! That's all for me this evening....Smiles
