Piercing NEW Releases!

Hello friends!! Happy Monday!! :) I absolutely LOVE the pink for snowflakes now..it's offical! This is one of the brand NEW images from DRS Designs!! It's a snowflake ribbon slider! And I'm sure you remember those slider cards I made a while back! (You can see them ALL on this blog by clicking here or looking under the categories section on the right sidebar and clicking "ribbon slides"!)
This card was done for our fun DRS Designs Challenge Blog! For this challenge we were to concentrate on piercing and I LOVE to do this because you can make something look like it's stitched without using a sewing machine! (Which I am NOT handy with, but let's not go into THAT one! lol!) And if you can believe this one, I actually used my piercing tool FREE HAND around the cirle behind the snowflake!! I also like to make fun corner designs as well! You can see on the top corners of the blue card. (If you need to see this card a little closer, be sure to click on it to see the details up close!)
I also took the Snowflake ribbon slide image and used it as a background panel as well! That's what I really love about these ribbon slides...you can use them over and over again! To give the snowflake a little sparkle, I stamped it in craft blue ink and embossed it with some sparkle glitter embossing powder. I ran some yummy pink taffeta ribbon through it, wrapped it around the stamped BG panel and used a brad to attach the two ends of the ribbon.
I popped the whole panel up on my blue folded card after I did the piercing and I also softened the edges of the blue with a white craft ink pad.
So please join us over on the DRS Designs Blog and try out the piercing challenge!! You can put your creation on your blog and link it in the comments section OR if you don't have a blog, then load it to your SCS gallery with the keywords: DRSC2 (Combine it with other challenges and just have fun!!)
Hope you enjoy my card and the new images! I'll have more to show you soon!!

New Stampin' Up! projects!

Hey friends!! Hope you're having a happy weekend!! I just wanted to do a quick post to show you the AWESOME projects I made at my "Stamp Attics" meeting this morning!
The one card at the bottom uses one of the new silhouette images called "Inspired by Nature" and it's one of those tri-fold cards. I always tend to change things around or do something a little different, so this was EXCACTLY the same card, but it's my style for sure! I added some ribbon to it, distressed and sponged around the edges and added a panel of Going Grey cardstock to the back of the image so that it matched the swatch of DP I got. The flap coming open was bugging me too, so I used a piece of velcro for the closure. (I would've used a magnet, but I didn't have any!)
The other CUTE card was done with the new stamp "Flight of the Butterfly" set! I love it because it has awesome wording for the "path" the butterfly is flying! It's hard to see in the picture, but there's glitter on the wings. These are all the new In-Colors used as well as the yummy Bella Rose DP!! I also used my white gel pen for the middle of the small flowers that I stamped on the Riding Hood Red colors.
The flower that looks like it's in a pot was my favorite project!! There's actually a sucker in the middle of it with the punched out flowers glued at the top! I didn't change this one much other than adding the sentiment on the front of the pot. (The template was provided at the meeting for the pot and then you had to fold it, so I can't give you the dimensions! Sorry!) You can always have a party with your friends so you can all make one if you like it that well! Or if you'd like to get together with me, I'd be happy to show you what I did!!
The item at the left side with the ribbon is a book mark! So cute!! :) The image in the middle of the scallop square chipboard is the new "A Flower for All Seasons" stamp set! And of course the ribbon is one of the beautiful new In-Colors! I just colored it in with blender pens, added a rub-on greeting to the ribbon and attached around the chipboard with a brad. For the image, I added some Crystal Effects and a little pinch of glitter over the flowers. I also added some dots on the chipboard scallop with the white gel pen.
Hope you've enjoyed these as much as I did making them!! :) Enjoy your weekend friends!!

Scary Skull!

My kids think that this Skull image is so cool! So I decided to show you guys & I know that Halloween is coming up and I really love this image Nicole, from Prickley Pear, has designed! (The only image that is not from the "skull image" plate is the linoleum BG image.) She's got even more new image plates out...so go check them out! (hint: think Halloween!)
There are several things going on with this card. I used black cardstock for the folded base card, then I used some gold shiny cardstock that I had left in my stash, and I used the top panel of the New SU! In-Color Ridinghood Red! I also used the SU! scallop border punch at the top of this panel.
I used one of the latest TJ techniques on this card called "Glowing Images". What I can share with you though is what I did to the skull:
After completing the TJ technique, I took a Q-tip and bleached out the middle of the skull along with the flowers and vines. I used some markers to color in the parts that I wanted to and even added a touch of glitter to the roses. I also took my white gel pen to make highlights on the skull and then while it was still wet, I smeared it with my finger a bit.
I just decided to stamp the sentiment with white ink. Added some black ribbon and gold cord.
I have a TJ partner to exchange cards with, but I didn't want to scare her to death, so I opted not to send this card, but make a different one! :)
I think it's very cool looking, but I like everything anyway! And the fact that my teenagers like it helps with having cards on hand for them!
I think Summer is pretty much over at my house...we already have back-to-school activities planned and running around...so enjoy your last days while you can!!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to visit my bloggin' buddies soon!!

Stamped Dry Embossing

Hey friends!! Here's a card for you today using the "Stamped Dry Embossing" technique! For those of you that have followed me for a while, you may remember a tutorial I gave on this technique. If you've missed it or would like to see it again, then I have posted it on our brand NEW DRS Designs Blog! (Just click on the link to view the tutorial!)
For this card I have used the 2-Line Flower Design image (cut apart so that I can use each one individually if I want) and the Just a Note Sentiment from DRS Designs.
All other details about this card can be found on the other blog!! So please stop by and don't forget that we have challenges for YOU to try out every other Monday!! Hope you play along!! Have a happy Monday everyone!!

Kings and wings

Just a simple, short and sweet card to show you today. All images are from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps! I was looking through my Prickley Pear stash today and came across this heart with wings and knew I wanted to use it today! As you can see, I used some of Nicole's stunning images to create my own background panel. The colors I used on this card are Kraft for the folded card (which is a 6x3 size), Ruby Red for the strip, Black for the circle behind the heart and Blush Blossom for the other panel and to emboss the heart with wings in Gold EP. I colored just the leaves and around the edge of the heart with Copic markers. I also punched out the black behind the heart with my circle punch, glued it on the panel and then popped up the heart and king hat with pop dots.
The scallop was made with the new Stampin' Up! scallop edge punch and then I used my 1/16" circle punch to punch holes in each scallop. I also distressed the edges with Creamy Caramel ink pad as well as the Gold ink pad.
Hope you've enjoyed today's creation and have a wonderful weekend!! Thanks for stopping by today!! *HUGS & SMILES!*

Colors, sketches and challenges...oh my!

Whew! Is is hot & humid over here!! Great day to stay in and stamp!! And if you are stamping today, I hope you try out some of these great challenges going on!! It may not look like it, but I've incorporated SERVERAL challenges on this card! All images used on this card are by DRS Designs. There is today's SCS Color Challenge using ONLY the In-Colors (the ones soon to be retired!) and neutrals! I used white, black, Groovy Guava & River Rock on this card. I colored in the Flower/Butterfly Combo image with the same colors as well. I used a rhinestone brad in the middle of the flower and applied stickles to the butterflies. I also distressed the edges of this panel and then attached it to a black panel.
I also used more inchies for the DRS Design Blog Challenge to use inchies! I incorporated my inchies with the CPS sketch and I also used an inchie to make this a thank you card for the Stamp Something Challenge Blog! The inchies along the edge were cut in half to fit with the sketch. I stamped the Interlocking Flower BG image on the white inchies as well as the River Rock inchie with River Rock ink and then stamped the Small Thank You image in black over top of that. I also used this same image to stamp the River Rock panel behind the main flower image. I used the 1 1/4" punch for a layer behind my inchies and popped up the "Thank You!" inchie with pop dots. I also had some Groovy Guava double stitched ribbon to wrap around the River Rock panel.
I hope you enjoyed my card for today as I had fun making it with all these challenges in mind!! Now off to post my card and make some comments!! I've been stalking the mail man and UPS trucks for the last couple of days as I've been waiting on my brand new catty to arrive!! So if it gets quiet on here all of the sudden, you'll know why!! :)
Hope you all have a fun day creating friends!!
**Don't forget to comment as many times as you feel you need for the above blog candy!! I'm so thrilled reading everyone's comments!! Thanks again for that and I REALLY appreciate you spreading the word around!**

More Magnolia!

This is the first time for me doing a Tilda & Co Challenge as well as my first time using the Copic markers! For this challenge, we were to follow a sketch and it's an awesome sketch! We couldn't combine any other challenges with it though. (bummer!) but I couldn't help but want to try this out with these darling images I have now!! :)
I used Lavendar Lace, white and So Saffron DP for my colors. The Magnolia (sorry, don't know the name of her...maybe some of you can help me with that?!) was colored in with Copic markers, cut out and placed on a cuttlebug white circle that was cut out with my coluzzle. The scallop circle is from my nestabilities and I just added white dots with my white gel pen. The ribbon is white silk and I glued a couple of white baubbles in the top corners. I couldn't help but add touches of stickles glitter to the flowers and her hair bows!! :)
Hope you've enjoyed my Magnolia card today!! I plan to be back later with some more fun challenges I plan to COMBINE together today!! :) Have a wonderful stamping day friends!!
~I hope to find some time soon to stop by and visit with my blog friends..I promise I will get out to comment soon!!~

He was a SK8ER boy!

Hi there and happy hump day to you all!! Got some more fun challenges done with this card! I used the SCS SC187 sketch for this card as well as the colors from the Color Throw Down Blog using the colors Almost Ameythst, Certainly Celery & Black.
I wanted to keep this somewhat simple and I always tend to put ribbon on most of my creations, so I tried to NOT do that this time!...besides, it is supposed to be more a masculine card. I usually associate these colors with flowers, so I purposely wanted to make this masculine. All of these images are from DRS Designs. I embossed the sk8er boy in black and sponged around him with the ameythst color. The BG strips were also inked with the cool squares in the same color. There is more layering to this card than what appears, but I sure had fun with it!! I will certainly use this again! I also thought it needed a little something something, so I added two small rhinestone squares along the edge.
Hope you've enjoyed today's card!! Please come back tomorrow as I have something SPECIAL for you!! Thanks for stopping by today!

Huh?! Christmas in July?!

Yes, that's right...it Christmas in July at my house! (And it's a good thing too as it's waaaay too hot over here in the midwest!!) I couldn't help resist using another one of these CUTE oldie but goodie Stampin' Up! penguins!
There are SEVERAL combined challenges on this card! First, I knew I wanted to use the Monday's SCS Blintz Base Challenge and the directions that I used to create this origami style box can be found HERE. I also did the CPS for this week. I only changed it a bit by adding the ribbon along the side instead of the deckled edge. I thought that I could also incorporate the Paper Take Weekly Challenge to make a Christmas card, as well as the Arty Girlz Challenge today to use the main color as blue! And it feels good to get all of these challenges I've been wanting to do for a while now!
The recipe for this is the blintz technique link found above, I used Brilliant Blue cardstock and DP as well as Bashful Blue & white cardstock. You can see in the picture that I popped up the four folds in the box and added some rhinestone brads to the edges to hold it all together. The ribbon is the striped Bashful Blue ribbon from Stampin' Up! and the CUTE penguin image is from an older Stampin' Up! set called Penguin Pleasantries (no longer available). I also used the sentiment in the upper corner of the penguin from the Stampin' Up! Everyday Flexible Phrases stamp set. I colored in the penguin with watercolor crayons and added a bit of stickles at the bottom so it looks like he's skating on ice! And of course when you are looking at the card head-on, you don't see those pop dots, but I wanted to give you an angle view so you could see all the dimension and sparkle on it!! Hope you enjoy my creation on this really HOT day!!
Thanks for looking!
And don't forget that I'm going to be putting up some REALLY FUN blog candy soon! So be sure and check back here!! Thanks for stopping by today friends!!

My very first Magnolia card!

Isn't this the CUTEST thing?! I have loved these images for a while now seeing everyone else create with them, but I haven't broken down and bought any yet!! Remember the sweet gal that stamped several of these images for me?! Here's my very first card made with the Magnolia images! I did some researching and found people were calling this image "Edwin with Roses" and he was so much fun to color in!! I just love the sparkly wings!! I didn't know for sure what I wanted to use this card for, so I pretty much left out a sentiment until I know what I want to use it for.
I want to thank Janneke once again for providing me with these adorable images!!
I can't wait to use more of them!! Maybe now I can join in on some of the Magnolia blog challenges!! :)
Stay tuned in...more to come soon friends!!

One of a Kind grid sketch

I was ready to do some challenges today!! I love this DP from Stampin' Up! and I haven't had a chance to really use this One of a Kind stamp set so much, so I pulled them out to use!
The challenges I did for today was the TLC Grid Challenge on SCS today! You can click on the link which will take you to place where you can view the tutorial on how to do it. You have to look closely at the pink card BG to see the lines, but they are there & it looks awesome IRL! Love how it just adds so much texture to the cardstock!
The other challenge is another brand new NMBS Group Challenge! I can't believe we are already up to five challenges now! This week is a wonderful sketch provided by one of our members! It's very cool and I see so many possibilities with it! You can play along too if you want! Just up-load your card to your blog or SCS gallery with the keywords: NMBS05 and link it back to the challenge post so that we can all comment on your creation!!
Thanks for stopping by today!! I will have more creations coming your way soon!!

Happiness Always & the New 2008-2009 In Colors!

Are you ready for some more sneak peeks?! I am!! The brown UPS truck showed up at my house yesterday (And I wasn't expecting anything until Monday, so it was a nice surprise!) and dropped off my Stampin' Up! pre-view order!! woohoo! Here's what I've done:
Here's my brand new hostess set called Happiness Always. I really love the designs in this set! And I'm probably not the ONLY one who thought of this, but I thought that the detailed layer of the images would be so cool embossed!! so I stamped the butterfly with the Riding Hood Red on vanilla cardstock and then embossed the second 2-step image with gold EP. I know it's hard to see in the picture. But I also thought how pretty it would be with Iridescent Ice EP!! Hmm...might be trying that one out too!! The second butterfly is stamped with the Pink Piroquette and overstamped with Chocolate Chip.

Let me tell you that I absolutely LOVE that new scallop punch!! It is so awesome!! It takes NO TIME at all to create those scallops and you can make the other side of the paper as long as you want! (Those of you that have used the slit or corner punches to create your scallop design!)
The other thing that I love is this new Bella Rose DP!! Cool!!

And don't worry NMBS group, this will NOT be the card for swaps! I'm going to surprise you for that!! I'm excited to be playing with stuff this weekend!!

OK..if you blog surf, then you probably have already seen the shades of the New In-Colors somewhere. If not, then here they are!! And I know my picture is small, but I made this chart and took the picture with a digital because I have no scanner. If you'd like to see a closer view, you can click on the image to enlarge it so you can get a better look see.

What I did with this chart is put the In-Colors on one side and then on the opposite side of the color, I placed what I thought the shades of the New In-Colors closely resembled to the other Stampin' Up! colors you may already be familiar with. It looks like "to me" that the majority of the New In-Colors are a shade darker than the original with the exception of the Pacific Point color which is a little different than any of the blues that we have now. And what I thought was wierd was that the Baja Breeze color looked more closely to the Sage Shadow than any of the blue tones! And I am really loving that Kiwi Kiss color!! It's a perfect shade!

And of course, you know that these are just my opinions about them. I'm sure once I play with them more I will fall in love with them just like the others!! :)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!! We are trying to stay out of the heat and still doing our remodeling!

*HUGS & SMILES!*

More Sneak Peek images!!

Meow! Meow! This is one fancy kitty cat!! It's one of the up-coming new releases from DRS Designs! (Remember, these will come out on Monday~so be sure to check them out!)

I thought that this pretty kitty needed to be colored with pinks and purples!! Yep, she sure looks like it too!! The background was made with my cuttlebug machine and embossing folder. I just took the white ink pad to rub over the embossing to make it stand out a little better. Of course she has green eyes and purple eye shadow! I put some stickles over her collar gem stones and on her eyes. I also thought it would match the pattern and theme to put the square jewels at a diagnol position in the corner. And then I just finished it off with shimmery ribbon! I hope you like Ms. Kitty image!! :)

"My future's so bright...I gotta wear shades!!" And..."It's hip to be square!!" This card reminds me so much of the 1980s!! And yes, I'm one of those 80s ladies!! Both the sunglasses and square background images are also part of the sneak peek from DRS! I just think that the 80s music I've been listening to this weekend has rubbed off on my or something!!? Sorry for my lame humor! lol!

It's hard to tell in the picture, but what I did was emboss the sunglasses with black embossing powder and used some blue watercolor crayons for some shading around them. I then used two different shades of shimmerz and brushed on the lens part of them. It looks VERY shimmery up close and personal! I thought that the square background stamps would be awesome stamped in different colors like that! They have SEVERAL new background images they will be coming out with besides this square one! I hope to playing with more shortly! They are great for miscellaneous images that you don't know what to do with!! :)

FORE!!!! Check out this Sneak preview of the golf cart image!! My kids love to play golf and they usually get in on that every summer, but they've just been so busy lately with other things. I think this card would be great for a guy OR girl golfer!! DRS has this amazing Open Plaid image! That's how I created the background on this card. It was simple to put together, just added the sentiment, brads in the corner, popped up the cart image and wrapped some ribbon around the bottom of card.
Hope you've enjoyed the little sneak peek party I've give you!! I will be stamping some more with these images so be watching this blog for your favorite ones when you see them on the DRS website!! Thanks for putting up with my "teasing"!!
More sneak peeks coming your way....

Outdoor Life & Vintage New images!!

I have promised ALL kinds of pictures from my NEW rubbah, haven't I? Well, here are some projects that I've been working on with the brand new goodie bag of rubbah from Nicole over at Prickley Pear! Take a look:

OK...These are NOT new images, but I so much LOVE this image and had yet to even use it!! I used my cuttlebug for the close to cocoa BG panel and then I sprayed it with a mixture of Gold Interference Pearl Ex powder and hair spray. (It has some pretty cool effects on your paper!) I stamped the wolf & sentiment images from THIS half sheet of rubber. I just chalked certain parts of the wolf and then added some yellow stickles to the eyes. Hopefully you can see all the shimmer and sparkle on this card! I also used a swirl image from Prickley Pear very lightly on the sentiment panel.

OK...NOW for the BRAND NEW HALF SHEETS OF RUBBER! (Remember: for this month only if you purchase two of the new plates of rubber, you will receive a FREE GRAB BAG-O-RUBBER! )

Owl whoo? I think this little owl is just too cute!! I used a TJ technique for the BG panel with the cuttlebug. I also used a new image & embossed with vanilla ink on each corner of the panel. I have the top owl popped up on pop dots and I also added some stickles to their eyes! This is pretty much my first chance at playing with some birds! There are some more really cool birds that I've working with as well...

Wasn't quite too sure what I wanted to accomplish with this accordian tag, but I thought it would be fun to incorporate several birds on it and pop them up! It looks really fabulous IRL though! Except for the orchid bird, I embossed the other birds in silver EP and colored them in. I stamped several different collage images all over the accordian and sponged some areas. I also added touches of stickles to the birds and flowers. The ribbon is just tied at the top and woven through the holes. I've never completed one of these before, but I thought it was lots of fun. Hope you enjoy it!! Now, go get some of these pretty birds!!!

One last thing to show you! I haven't made ATCs in years!! Yes, that's right...years!! They used to be popular a while back and now it seems that they are making a "come back"! These vintage images seem to be really hot as well! So this is my first in quite a while using BOTH! I love how they turned out!! Isn't that coffee stain image the coolest?!
I took the music image on the left card and crumpled it all up and then sponged some brown ink over it. I cut out the image so that I could ink up some swirls in gold at the top of the brown panel. The image will fit perfectly on an ATC sized card though!
I hope you've enjoyed all these creations that I've done with the Prickley Pear images! I just fell in love with the NEW images!! Nicole will be receiving a batch coming her way shortly for sure!
but don't go away!! I've still promised MORE new images to you and I plan on getting those up here later on today!! So be sure to check back for more new sneak peeks!!! *HUGS & SMILES!*

Bubbly Spinner Winner!

Isn't this so cool?! It's been quite a while since I've made a spinner card, so I basically did this from memory rather than a tutorial. This is for THREE challenges on SCS!! The Monday's TLC was to make a spinner card, Tuesday Color Challenge was to use "Groovy Banana Chips" (hehee!) and the Sketch Challenge was incorporated with this as well! Since I've missed them this week, I just lumped them all together!! :)

All the images I used are from Prickley Pear. And have you gotten your FREE rubbah yet?! If not, you should click on the link to view the details on the front page of the website!! There are some pretty cool brand NEW stamps out! I just love this little "Fishy Fred" dude!! I cut the bubbles out seperately and popped them up next to him away from the spinner action and then used stickles to make them sparkly!! And I did use the color combo from the challenge ONLY. And I did follow the sketch other than making it a spinner.

And this is just to show you what the other side of the spinner looks like. I just stamped the bubble word circle with Banana ink and then stamped the sentiment in chocolate chip. It's fun because you just "wind up" the square a few times and then let it go and watch it spin!! If you want to know how to make one of these spinners, click on the TLC link above and it will take you to a link where you can go that shows you how to do it.
Hope you enjoyed my fishy spinner today!! I look forward to showing you more NEW images very soon from Prickley Pear!! So stay tuned in!! *HUGS & SMILES!!*

A Waxy Sunset!

Hey, did I ever tell you how much I HATE cleaning?! Well, if you didn't know...I really hate it! I feel like that's all I've been doing the last few days! My boys have been gone this week volunteering at a scout camp and so I kind of pick up the messes when everyone comes and goes.

Anyway, now that I got that all out of the way, I did have some time to stamp this morning and get some challenges done that I've been wanting to do!! Yeah!! OK, this one is for my wonderful N.M.B.S. group #4 challenge!! We were to use glossy cardstock and do something with it. Well, I used the good old resist technique using crinkled wax paper resist! The lines in it were made by folding the wax paper a certain way when you heat it up on the glossy. (After you crinkle it of course!) I used to have an old tutorial that I did this technique on, but I think it's gone...so I'll have to do this one again!! :) I stamped the Sanded BG stamp on the Ballet Blue color and distressed the edges with the distressing tool. OH...and we were to use NO FLOWERS! That's not hard for me as I get tired of flowers after a while. Not that I don't love them, I just get tired of them sometimes. Sometimes too much is NOT a good thing! If you'd like to join in with us doing this challenge, go link your card to the challenge post and you can also load it to SCS using the keywords NMBS04 and link it to the post. Thanks so stopping by today and checking out my blog!! *HUGS & SMILES!*
